We've been sharing our own brand of Latin magic with our guests since 1991; a tasty blend of the traditional and the new, with fresh ingredients, mouth-watering regional food and drink, and service from passionate people. Add to the mix intoxicating Latin rhythms and the rich colour palette of the southern hemisphere and we make sure that at Las Iguanas you will live Latin Life to the full. Our restaurant is where it's really at. We work hard to bring fresh, tasty and authentic food to your table. The Latin food that we know today dates right back to the 16th Century, a fusion of native Latin American Indian, Spanish, Portuguese and African influences. Our signature dish, Xinxim Brasilian lime chicken, really is Pelé's favourite, and is the best example of this fusion, bringing together Latin, African and Portuguese flavours to create something really special.
In the bar, find the perfect spot for a little pre or post dinner indulgence. Or if the mood takes you, just lounge with a cocktail or some tapas. We call the bar the Cachaçaria because it's where we serve Las Iguanas Magnifica Cachaça. Cachaça is a spirit distilled from sugar cane and the national drink of Brasil. We make our own near Rio de Janeiro and if you haven't tried it before, we know you'll enjoy it!
You'll see lots of Latin American things in our restaurants, apart from on the menu! Our mosaic tabletops are made for us in Brasil from sustainable woods and we like bringing quirky things back from our travels, like big lobster sculpture or giant drums. If you've ever dreamt of lazy days on Copacabana beach, we can't guarantee the sunshine but you will find the iconic swirly black and white pavement in one particular Las Iguanas. You might also find a few life-sized Latinos if you know where to look.
